A new study published in Nature Medicine on June 25, 2026, found that neoadjuvant stereotactic body radiation therapy with durvalumab and oleclumab significantly improved clinical responses for patients with early-stage ER+HER2− breast cancer.[1774848] The trial, known as Neo-CheckRay, included 104 patients who received either radiation therapy alone or in combination with the immune-modulating agents durvalumab and oleclumab.[1774848] Results showed that when durvalumab was added to radiation therapy, clinical responses were significantly improved, including in patients with PD-L1-negative tumors.[1774848]
